Pencil Partners with Glendale School

Close to the church, Glendale elementary School is a Spanish Immersion Public school for pre Kindergarten through 4th grade students in the neighborhood and across the city.

Through the Pencil Partnership program, Glendale church supports the school in several ways:

  • Sponsors a teacher appreciation lunch during the days prior to the opening of the school year
  • Gathering place for local students and parents for the annual district-wide “Walk to School” in October
  • Site of occasional “Spanish for parents and neighbors” classes offered by teachers
  • Hosted meetings of the parent teacher association
  • Church members have tutored students
